It’s a black box, but by no means boring. The SleuthGear Recluse is simple on the outside, high-tech surveillance equipment within. It’s a motion-activated DVR that will run up to 6 hours on a rechargeable Li-polymer battery. The results of its work are stored on a small memory card.
Designed to blend into the background, the SleuthGear Recluse is about the size of a small paperback book. Place it in or under an object, or on a shelf or table, facing toward the area you would like to record. The built-in color camera is ready to capture action in a 75 degree field of view.
The all-inclusive recording device has a motion-activated camera, with motion sensitivity adjustable between high, normal and low. It will record at 30 frames per second or it can be programmed to take snapshots. Or manually start continuous recording by pressing the record button or use the remote.
An unusual feature of the SleuthGear Recluse is the ability to play the video as it is being recorded by connecting cables to a TV or monitor. Or view and edit video on Windows Media Player after removing the SD memory card and inserting it into a computer. Play in forward or reverse in normal time, two or four times speed.
The unit comes with a SD card, card reader, AV cables, rechargeable battery, a power adapter to recharge the battery and a remote.
